There's nothing better than a CD coming through the letterbox that we've forgot we're reviewing at UGHH, creating a hyped up atmosphere as we rip the cellophane from the case. The CD which arrived is also from an artist we've not heard much of before, known as Sparkplug and reigning from Gloucester! We're very keen on hearing what he's bringing to the table with his debut album Hiding In Wide Open Spaces! So let's delve right into the 13 track album with a full length review!

Opening up the Hiding In Wide Open Spaces album is the Introduction drenched in eerie and demonic vibes as Sparkplug showcases his self destructive subject matter from chonging, grinding and forever trying to make his mark in the scene. Stuck In The Middle is one of those tracks that we can all relate to, no matter your walk of life! Embark on a journey as Sparkplug describes the bitter state of society and the inequalities which run throughout, while many of us just want to feel at peace with life's bullshit.

The third track is titled Envious with a beat that oozes blasts of soul to your temple as Sparkplug glides across it with humbled content focusing on being creative and the types of people who suppress artistic talents! Never Really Been Good At Much is next up and brings reflective yet illusive production to the table, Sparkplug gives it the attention it deserves as he ponders why he's not good at stuff, except being shit at being good at stuff! It still counts thought, right?

Skipping Slow It Down featuring Arkameedeez and Sarai Jazz and Nutjob (Check them out below!) we land on Slippin' Sideways featuring Cheerona Moonchild! Jheeeze, expect your brain to be twisting and turning around the beat that wobs, grinds and slaps facial features every step of the way. Sparkplug fires a slew of rhymes showcasing why his style doesn't fit in between the arrogant / conscious rappers, because he's both! Skipping On With The Show we hit Painwhich features two of my favorite spitters with Skrabl Stanzas and Dokta VooDoo swinging by with a feature each. The beat is nothing short of impeccable and this trio of rappers can only be a good thing and it's exactly that! Bun anymore text, hit play below!

The 10th track on the album is Ever Loved featuring Rago Vybez and showcases Sparkplugs more serious side, as he breaks down the predictable hip hop scene and the greed which runs rampid! Saturdays Child is the track in which you'll learn more about the man behind the alias Sparkplug, as he laces a pumping hypnotic beat with truthful lyrics about his life, aspirations, betrayal and what he's moving towards. The second to last track is titled Suicide Note and brings greasy undertones for Sparkplug to honor his pack with the pen, murdering all pieces of paper and tracks they come in contact with! The last track on the album is Fast Asleep and is for all the herbaholics out there, expect Sparkplug to spit some dank rhymes to your frontal lobe as spits on array of subjects with his hard hitting flow and quality penmanship! Perfect after a 9-5 slave shift in the office, hit the play button below now!
