Ms Dynamite's Biography

Ms. Dynamite was born and raised in a district in North London called Archway, she has a Jamaican father and a scottish mother. When she was growing up she listened to hip hop and reggae music. Her ambitions as she was growing up was to be a school teacher or a social worker, however her biggest ambition was to be a musician.

Ms. Dynamite is the eldest of Eleven siblings! One of her brothers is a well known grime MC and hip hop artist who goes by the alias of Akala.

Ms. Dynamite also went by another alias of Lady Dynamite and was first known on the UK Garage scene for a track titled 'Booo!' which was played on pirate radio stations around london and was later released as a single.

She was working on a radio station called RAW FM, soon after she was discovered by DJ Sticky (Richard Forbes) at a club in the West End. Ms. Dynamite was a member of the well known garage act So Solid Crew, after she left 'A Little Deeper' was released in 2002 which was her debut album, the album featured two of her hit songs 'It takes More' and 'Dy-na-mi-tee'.

Shortly after Dynamite won the prestigious Mercury Music Prize (runner up - The Streets) for the release of A Little Deeper, she decided to donate the £20,000 prize to the NSPCC.

In December 2010 Ms. Dyanmite was featured on a track titled 'Lights On' which was Katy B's second single, the song reached #4 in the UK singles Chart.

In an interview with Digital Spy in August 2011, Dynamite confirmed her third studio album is being worked on and announced that the lead single 'Neva Soft' produced by Labrinth would be released on the 4th of September.
