Smellington Piff is the name and living off the grid is the game! We're glad to announce one of our most highly anticipated albums of the year has been released via Real Life Drama Records, titled Notice Of Eviction & produced entirely by Leaf Dog we finally get to hear the debut release from Smellington! Having only discovered his music with the release of Piff Land in 2013, his self titled EP and features between then and now it's safe to say he's making a solid entrance into the game and only furthered my expectations for his debut album, so let's jump straight into the review and find out.

Kicking off with the Intro you'll be greeted with a short skit of a court hearing kicking out the inhabitants of a caravan site leading up to the next track. Opposites Attract with neck jerking production you'll be bobbin along with before Piff even begins, he proceeds to lace the riddem with hard hitting potent rhymes delivered with on point flows and the hooks a banger! End of Discussion doesn't even allow you to find your feet, instantly entering into boombap production and a slew of bars letting you into the broke, booze infused, canibus riddled mind of Smellington Piff! Check out the official video below.

Smellington Piff | End of Discussion

Gorilla Growers is nothing but a weed enthusiasts anthem, going straight into marijuana infused rhymes touching on its benefits from a medicinal but more so recreational point of view and paying homage to the growers, you'll also hear some strong features with the likes of Son Doobie, Leaf Dog and BVA riding the beat alongside Smellington! An absolute banger from start to finish, big ups to all those Gorilla Growers! Next up is Site which was the first track to be released along with an official video on the 30th of October so I'm hoping you've already bumped this, if not you'll learn much more about Smellington Piff from this track than any other and the video is nothing short of impeccable, spark the zoogie and hit play below.

Smellington Piff | Site

Skipping Scallywag Chat we find ourselves on track number 7 titled The Base which holds the most features with Cracker Jon, Jack Jetson, Eric The Red, Leaf Dog and BVA jumping on board, with a guest list like that you expecting nothing short of greatness and that's exactly what you'll get, nothing but verses full to the brim with straight up bars! Authentic Fakes featuring the legendary Rag N Bone Man on the hooks it's an instant masterpiece, Smellington showcases the levels to his pen game and delivery while exploring the subject of those fugazi snakes who'll ride your wave and quickly switch up stabbing you in the back! An official video has also been produced for Authentic Fakes so peep the visuals below!

Smellington Piff | Authentic Fakes

Food Chain showcases exactly why Leaf Dog is at the forefront of the production game setting up Smellington with a flawless platform to get busy with, guess what? He does exactly that going in on a underdog tip, touching on the food chain and how many of us are at the bottom wallowing over pennys while the fat cats at the top take the biggest peice of the pie. This is the only extra track you can experience yourself via RLD's bandcamp, so hit play below.

80 Degrees features more High Focus artists with the likes of Verb T and Fliptrix swinging by to bless us with some certified dope verses and that's exactly what they do! Verb opens up with the opening verse with his tranquil and effortless flow, Fliptrix duttys up the second verse with a mixture of flows and barbaric delivery with Smellington smashing the final verse into oblivion. Skipping Real Lifes Happening (no reason, trust!) we land on After the Storm which is definetly in my top 3 favourites from the Notice Of Eviction album, featuring a guest verse from MC life you can expect nothing but quality rhymes. Smellington Piff's style works very well alongside the veteran and isn't out shined at all! Both of them shut the beat down with food for thought pen game touching on subjects such as war on terror, campaigns of fear all the way to simple ignorant mind states! What a Waste is another runner up for favorite track from the album, oozing funky vibes from Leaf's production Smellington enlightens it with a series of stories focusing on numerous individuals wasting their time on this planet, from dealing to developing sket tendencies to pay for the rock! A great example of Piff's versatility and story telling abilities on beats, absolutely nailed it. Boxed in the Square features another dope guest verse from BVA and is yet again fighting for one of my favorites from the album, expect a barrage of rhymes attempting to break the monotony of our ground hog lifestyles, constant oppression and the moronic worshiping of possessions which possess us, classic. Skipping the next three tracks (No reason, they're absolutely dope featuring Leaf Dog, Bill Shakes and another with Lee Scott!) we land on the last track titled Humble, you'll see another great track giving you another insight into Smellington Piff's mind, in which he pays homage to his childhood, trials and tribulations and his mother for making him the man he is! A great uplifting and positive track to end the album on a high! It's been an absolute treat to be graced with an album like this so close to the end of 2014, it's wrapped up another great year for hip hop and cemented its self as one of the best releases of the year on this side of the pond!

There we have it, our in depth look into the mind and thoughts of Smellington Piff and his debut album Notice Of Eviction! If you're not already bumping your copy of Smellington Piffs debut album then you've got your priorities twisted, for a small fee of £6.99 you can redeem yourself and get behind one of the illest albums of the year!
