Better late than never I've finally got my hands on a copy of Phili N Dotz debut album together titled "Phil N The Dotz" which dropped earlier this year! It's without a doubt one of the many releases I've been looking forward to most this year, consisting of the legendary Si Phili from the notiorious Phi-Life Cypher crew and the other half Dotz, a well known battle emcee murdering heads in the circuit with ease. It would be a tragedy to not give these heads a full length review and it's a crime we're not going to commit, so let's get into the review!

The album opens up with a quick Intro featuring some cuts and scratching from Phili N Dotz until it fades out into the second track Travel The Globe Prod By Passion Hifi! You can expect to hear flawless chemistry between Phili N Dotz as they proceed to lace the beat with a lyrical onslaught and boombap vibes, a solid opening track! You might have also caught the official video by now, if not then what are you waiting for and hit play below!

We Stay is the third track and has been produced by Leaf Dog, who you can always expect to bring fire when producing. We Stay is an absolute head nodder from start to finish, compact with potent pen game, on point flows and unbelievable presence on the beat! An official video for We Stay was also released a few months ago via Dont Flop, check it out below.

Oh No has been produced by the one and only Pete Cannon and comes with a switch in style bringing electronic vibes in which Dotz & Phili bun the beat with rhymes that'll get you yammin mind altering substances to contend with the hype they bring on the track. Verbal Dissection showcases exactly what these heads are bringing to the table with Phil N The Dotz, the beat is of a demonic/haunting nature compact with haunting synths brought to you by Bad Habitz! First up is Dotz opening up with barbaric rhymes detailing a horrific human experimentation followed by Phili detailing an equally haunting verse of sadomasochism! Both emcees showcase their incredible story telling abilities capturing your imagination with every word.

Inner demons has been produced by Cystic who brings nothing but horror core vibes with an angelic hook, Phili plasters the track with rhyme after rhyme of the hectic drug ingested lifestyle, Dotz keeps the momentum moving with his second verse tackling it from the side of Alcohol! A head nodder for certain. Lyrical Gun Slingers boasts an ill collection of emcees lacing Richy Spitz beat, expect to hear Phoenix Da Icefire & Blak Twang ride alongside Phili'N'Dotz! I won't say anymore, just listen to it below.

I can't quite put a finger on my favorite track, it changes every listen through but track 9 Rise Of The Sceptic is certainly one of them, featuring Dotz on his owns going in on another beat by Cystic, expect Dotz to slow his flow while he single handedly exposes the modern world we live in and how disconnected we really are from each other! Let Ya Mind Breathe brings it straight back into that boombap vibes with the production and 1st verse handled by Leaf Dog, followed by Dotz then Phili - all taking time to explain their motivations!

War Dance has been spreading around facebook like wildfire so if you haven't heard it already, the time is now! The production has been handled by the badman Pete Cannon laying down a flawless beat for Phili'N'Dotz to get busy with! Phili'N'Dotz don't hold back giving us another boombap banger, completely compact with a barrage of bars from start to finish! It's safe to safe neck ache is imminent.

Track 14 has Bad Habitz on the production and is titled Fuck The Goverment featuring Phili on a solo tip going through a number of political issues with high intensity flows and rugged rhymes, this track showcases exactly why Phili has been a prominent name within the scene for many years and many more to come. Illest Rocks needs no explanation, Leaf Dog gets busy on the production side along with spitting a verse however you can also expect to hear Verb T, Klashnekoff & Wordsmiff on the roster! It's impossible to be let down here.

The last track on the album is titled Strength Becomes Struggle produced by Leaf Dog and features a funky laid back reflective beat in which Dotz lays the first verse, compact with lessons he learnt on his rise through life and rhymes, potent stuff! Whammy kills the hook with some soulful vocals, Phili continues the uplifting subject matter moving with his ravenous delivery and presence! A flawless ending for the Phil N The Dotz debut venture.

We've left a handful of songs out of the review as my fingers hurt but also because, you need to experience it yourself! Phili N The Dotz has been surrounded in hype as soon the scene heard of what these two were concocting and it's done nothing but surpassed all expectations and delivered possibly the best album of 2014! If this CD isn't in your collection yet then you really need to treat yourself and show these heads as much support as you can possibly give! The CD is available from their bandcamp below for a small fee of £7 and it's worth every penny, bangs harder than a nun on E's.
