Invokal Music From The Matchbox Mansion EP Review

Invokals been busy working on his debut solo EP titled "Music From The Matchbox Mansion" entirely produced by mighty Dirty Showbiz with one aim in mind, to produce something entirely different to the standard sound of homegrown hip hop. The EP features a total of 4 tracks, all with their own individual influences from many genres of music. We're going to give it a mini review so let's get into it!

Fall Out Tongue is the first track kicking off with a funky beat for Invokal to release a fury of rhymes upon, he proceeds to display his intricate pen game wrapped in food for thought subject matter, Fall Out Tongue is without a doubt a strong track to get acquainted with Invokals unique style on beat. Nearing the end the track fades out to a skit from Carl Sagan from "Who Speaks for Earth" ending the track flawlessly. Sharp Pencils displays Invokals honesty on the rhythm with a whirlwind of rhymes covering many aspects of the hip hop scene, from the start of time to where we heading; tackling the subject matter with ease and keeping that unique experimental sound running through out, it's another solid track from the Brighton based emcee. Dirty Skit is pretty much what it says on the tin, a short skit over a dark beat which asks, do you have a philosophy in life? Last track on the EP is titled Cue The Violins delves straight into chimes of falling through the abyss soon breaking into an edgy beat which Invokals rhymes over without breaking a sweat, packed with more intricate rhymes he displays a truly unique approach to the genre while picking apart the tragic society we shamble around.
