Makzwell Skot Whats Needed Album Review

Makzwell Skot won the Rhymepad Summerjam/Boombap open mics last summer with his intricate rhyme style, penmanship and lucid flows! Soon after that Makzwell Skot and producer P739's hooked up to release their debut album 'What's Needed' featuring a total of 16 homegrown tracks featuring the likes of Fourny P, Bruce Gramma, Slang Immaculate, King Messy, Luca Brazi, Archetype and Rameses.

The album kicks off with a quick intro skit focused on the fuckry that goes on within the music industry, small or big time! Shortly after track 2 titled 'Influence' featuring uplifting vibes on the beat with Makzwell Skot laying down bars on what keeps him motivated in the hip hop game!

Game of Life follows up afer featuring a gloomy beat intertwined with more great penmanship from Makzwell revolving around the struggle of daily life - the track also features Forny P and King Mess dropping a verse on the track keeping the momentum moving and solidifying the realness! Booze Britain is track number 4 and features bars reflecting on the binge drinking society that the United Kingdom seems to be obsessed with, awaiting the weekend to blow all their funds and act like rowdy teenagers. Without a doubt one of my favorite tracks from What's Needed, pure lyricism backed up with quality subject matter! Anything Better features Makzwell's flow in its organic flawless state, guaranteed to get your head noddin while he spits about daily issues he faces!

Skipping a few tracks (GO COP THIS ISH YO!) we find ourselves on 'Reputation' which features an official video of Makzwell Skot going in on nothing but a hip hop tip, ranging from subjects such as what makes him make the music he does and the constant struggle that comes with the lifestyle laced on top of a gritty beat. RUN features Makzwell Skot blasting P739's eerie beat with bars focusing on the corrupt systems, aggressive policing and racism! Delivered with a rugged n' raw flow and straight up anarchy vibes! Next track is titled 'So Lean' and features nothing but positive vibes and the appraisal of marijuana with genius samples from Dolly Parton - Jolene! Guaranteed to become an anthem for the morning wake and bake! Skipping a few more tracks we land on 'I've seen' which is definitely my personal favorite from What's Needed, expect to hear a beat that'll take you back to the golden days, laced with Makzwell Skot penning bars about things he's seen in his life and continues to see, ranging from the drug riddled streets to our taxes funding mass genocide! Nothing but Makzwell at his very best!
