2 Complex Standard Procedure Review

Earlier this month on the 16th a release we've been looking forward to finally dropped, consisting of a trio of two emcees known as Evileyz and Spider Jaroo and a producer known by the alias of Bambu Hands. Flying under one banner known as 2 Complex they've been working hard crafting their debut album titled Standard Procedure featuring a total of 12 tracks via Northern Structure Records. We're a little late with our review but it's finally here so let's get into it!

Kicking off the Standard Procedure album is Villains with Bambu bringing us eerie and tormenting production as Evileyz and Spider Jaroo showcases their deadly combination on beat! Introducing you to their unique styles with a solid opening track, expect pound for pound rhymes and on point flows from the second it starts, to the very end. Salted P-Nuts features an assortment of samples, skits and DJ Pnuts providing the mixing over Bambu Hands production as they both put their skillsets to the forefront, expect a sudden urge to get mashed up when listening to this one! Wake N Bake is a contender for one of our favourites from Standard Procedure, obviously about their pungent love for the herb. With a track name like that, you don't really need to explain much so light a zoogy, kick back get lost in this classic!

The Vibe brings a jazz infused river of tranquility on this one, an abundance of soul thanks to Bambu lacing the production. With the killer combination gliding across the frequencies with a flow that'll worm its way into your dome as the rhymes have you vibing in different dimensions. Rap Blaggers is a relatively short track from Standard Procedure weighing in at only 2 minutes and 6 second, you can expect to hear an assortment of rhymes over an alluring beat from an old school 2Complex freestyle. Next up is one of our favourites, hands down! Numb is the tracks name and it dropped last month accompanied with an official video and a feature from Amos. The beat is a testament as to why Bambu Hands is one of the many producers to watch this year and Evileyz, Spider Jaroo and Amos bring nothing but ruckus to the beat, displaying hard hitting delivery, neck jerking flows and packed to the brim of bars! 2 Complex | Numb FT Amos

Another short one here with Dry Roasted P-Nuts, containing zero rhymes you can hear Bambu Hands and DJ Pnuts putting down another short skit, allowing you to digest the previous track and get ready for the next! Next up is the self titled track Standard Procedure with greasy backdrops and loops, Spider Jaroo and Evileyz lace the beat with lazy flows and an onslaught of bars cementing their position in the game while calling out the over saturation of emcees! Deadlegs Skit is another short track however that doesn't mean it's not a banger! With a short intro Spider Jaroo and Deadlegs tackles the harmonic but daunting beat with dope wordplay and mesmerizing rhymes! This is actually some classic 2Complex from way back being revived and rightly so!

Systems Up delves into self reflective and conscious production from Bambu Hands, as Evileyz, Spider Jaroo and Amos duppy the beat with a variety of head nodding subject matters, from wordplay, society to those rhymes that makes your neck snap. P-Nuts Butter features Bambu Hands showcasing a short skit accompanied with mixing by DJ Pnuts, leading you up to the final track Moon Biscuits flawlessly. Containing an abundance of endorphins to the dome with the beat Bambu brings on this one, opening up with an intricate skit about space until Spider Jaroo laces the first verse with lucid delivery and vivid rhymes, Evileyz continues with picture painting flows and food for thought rhymes! A stellar track to end Standard Procedure on!
