Frankie Stew And Cuth The Journey Review

Frankie Stew should be an artist you've been bumping for a while now, making up part of one of the most exciting hip hop groups on the rise, known as Concept Of Thought. Frankie can make you forget about your own life for 5 minutes and put you in his shoes, bombarding your brain with sick schemes, abundance in subject matter combined with his effortless flow.

Cuth has been on our radar since he got in touch to let us known about his project with battle rapper and poet Adam The Rapper, creating beats which can capture your mood whether it's time to self reflect or get lively with a boom bap beat, Cuth can pull it off. They have been working on a collaboration release which just dropped titled 'Journeys EP' featuring a total of 9 homegrown tracks.

The EP kicks off with a skit titled 'The Departure' which only runs for a total of 40 seconds however it can speak a lot for the entire release, as this is what you can expect from here on in, food for thought, questioning the world and reflection of self - which is personally my favourite subject matter to feed my eardrums.

Skipping track two leads to the third track titled 'Heaven' featuring a tranquil beat with Frankie touches on issues surrounding his life and his quest for heaven. The track also features another dope rapper known by the name of Booda French, who some of you might recognise from don't flop as Truth, yet again bringing the fire to the flame with his effortless flow and content filled bars.

One of our favourite tracks has got to be track 6 titled 'Parades' featuring a beat bringing nothing but vibes on the beat backed up with Frankie's bars reflecting on life, his childhood and growing up. Frankie has a distinctive style which really makes him stand out from afar and it can be heard all over this track, this might also be our favourite beat from Cuth but it's to hard to call.

Another track which must have a mention before we cut this short is track 8 titled 'Post Mortem' featuring the High Focus beast Edward Scissortongue who'll really paint a picture with his metaphors and descriptive style. Frankie doesn't hold back on this track either solidifying himself as a key part in the new wave of UK hip hop. Everything on The Journey EP has been perfected from the name relating with the subject matter, the production from Cuth who really does know how to compliment a rappers style perfectly and the two features who fit the EP's general feel to a T. You can sample the entire EP below and can get the physical copy for £6 or the digital download for £2, how can you honestly refuse a deal like that?
