Benjamin Paul Ballance-Drew was born on the 22nd of October 1983 and is known globally by his hip hop name Plan B, not only is he a rapper he is also a Singer/Song Writer, actor and film director from Forest Gate. Plan B first came on to the hip hop radar in 2005 when he appeared on a track titled 'Cap Back' produced by DJ Wonder (Ex-Roll Deep) which is on a grime compilation album titled 'Run The Road'. Soon after he released his first single 'Kidz/Dead and Buried' on a limited edition 7" vinyl thorugh his own record label Pet Cemetery Records.
In 2006 Plan B released his first mixtape titled 'It's Time 4 Plan B' in the Hip Hop Collection Magazine May Edition. Soon after he made his first television appearance with Jools Holland where they performed an acoustic version of 'Mama Loves A Crackhead'. 2 Months down the line in June 'Mama Loves A Crackhead' was released as a single and was his first song to appear in the UK singles chart reaching #41.
Plan B released his first album which gained him fans from all over the country, the album was titled 'Who Needs Actions When You Got Words' and featured songs such as Mama Loves A Crack Head, Sick 2 Def, Dead and Buried to name a few.
Plan B toured in in 2007 (with support from Pro Green, Example and more) but still found time to release his second Mixtape titled 'Paint It Blacker' which contained remixs of songs from Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Radiohead, Coldplay, Leonard Cohen and more.
Adulthood was released in 2008 which starred Plan B, he also recorded a total of three songs for the films soundtrack End In The Streets, On It 08 and I Need Love. This wasn't the last time we would see plan b acting, since then he has featured in the very popular Harry Brown and 4,3,2,1.
The Defamation of Strickland Banks is his second studio album to be released in 2010 which went straight into the UK album chart at #1.
Plan B returns again in 2012 but this time to release his first film as a director titled 'Ill Manors'.
