CW Jones is a Leighton resident, a singer, MC and all round soul junkie. With this latest EP, he has brought together jazz vibes and blues atmosphere, and stuck them at a smoke filled free bar, with hip hop pouring the liqueur. His slant on the genre is a refreshing change to the norm, and lyrically, he's honest and clear in speaking about the tears of 21st century life. This is stoner hop, and it fills the room with head-nod-inducing smoke. The various producers have given Jones a cumulative collection of beats that flow forward like an open top Cadillac in a summer breeze.

The opening intro seeps in black and white horn blowing scenery, and this sets the pace for the performance. This would be accompanied well by a glass of the finest oak aged whiskey and a big fat cigar, but a cup of tea and a spliff doesn't go far wrong either. Culminating with two tracks featuring bars by Scrabl, who's verses treat us to solid rhymes and fluid sequences, with many meaningful sentiments. This is great UK hip hop, brave enough to show it's emotional side, and i'm looking forward to future offerings. The blend of soul and hip hop is done with heart and integrity, and this EP will certainly be one for the spring time outings and sunshine laden drives.
