Jam Baxter So We Ate Them Whole Review

Jam Baxter So We Ate Them Whole Review

This year has been an absolute blinder for homegrown hip hop with numerous releases by emcees climbing the ladder, certified vets and previously retired vets making a come back! As December draws closer the momentum doesn't stop until the year is over, one of the scenes most highly anticipated albums is still set to drop (1st of December) and that is; Jam Baxter & Chemo's "So We Ate Them Whole" album featuring 14 tongue twisting tracks!

The opening track on the album is titled "Wings Cost Extra" which kicks off with oozing lucid vibes from the keys and jazzy drums by Chemo, Baxter laces it with his signature rhyme style of an abundance of intricate bars, only he's only gone and polished off the style even more. Instantly from the first track there's great chemistry between these two artists and as you work through the track list it becomes more and more apparent. Through-out the release Jam Baxter displays everything we expect and much much more, completely fine tuning his delivery and flow to bring a barrage of intricate rhymes and subject matters that'll keep your brain working in overdrive with every listen, discovering more and more gems and breathtaking penmanship, Jam Baxter is clearly a cut above the rest and So We Ate Them Whole just cements that for us! Chemo as many of you probably know is a key player and an entirely unique entity when production is concerned, crafting potentially the best beat's I've ever heard, all similar in terms of vibes and eerie off springs however when laced with Baxters rhymes and played from start to finish Chemo has produced an album that flows smoother than a friction-less surface, completely dodging and leaping beyond the risk of every track sounding very similar.

Normally our reviews would break down the album track by track, going into depth on the lyrics, production, delivery and content however the review would easily go on longer than the entirety of my University assignments, so we're holding back on giving to much away. A few stand out tracks have got to be Leash which most of you will have probably heard when the official video dropped, if not then checkout the official video below right this god damn second! All levels have been upped.

Jam Baxter | Leash

Clockwork is a flawless Baxter track in which he bobs and weaves through Chemo's menacing and sinister instrumental, as he lays spews his intense delivery and presence, painting vivid imagery with each imaginative convoluted pen game we've become addicted to. Menu is certainly one which stands out for us, featuring the only guest verse on the release from Dirty Dike! You can expect both of these emcees to paint rhymes of their appearances on road with an obnoxious nature, a style no one can top since Dike's entrance many years ago, DJ Sammy B-Side also swings by to supply them neck jerking cuts.

So We Ate Them Whole is currently available for pre-order (£8.99) with the album dropping on the 1st of December via the powerhouse High Focus! This is one of the very last releases to drop in 2014 and we can bet it's one you don't want to miss! If your pockets are low, then get this shit on the Christmas list!
