Homegrown hip hop enthusiasts should recognize the name Split Prophets by now, The Bristol-based crew has been bringing consistent heat for a few years now and Upfront MC is at the forefront of their movement. Personally this is a project i have wanted to get my hands on for a long time; Upfront has consistently impressed me with his conscious, calculated and fresh-feeling lyrics over the last few projects he's been a part of. This Album cements him as one of the most promising up-and-coming MC's in the UK in our opinion, consisting of 16 tracks, featuring Hard hitting lyricism, deep content and catchy hooks are littered throughout the album.

The album is complemented with his ridiculously-on-point attitude and approach ,Upfront is spitting pure fire over catalog of beats provided by BadHabitz. The project comes accompanied with some beautiful vocals from Chikaya and an impressive array of features from Leafdog, Life MC, Jman, Mistafire, Hozay and the whole SP collective (Res, Paro, Datkid, Blanka, Bil next, Two tungs and Flying-monk!. Upfront's debut 'Upfront & Personal' has definetly made it's mark on the scene as one of the most well rounded hip hop releases to drop this year!

We're going to cover the tracks which have been released with official videos as these are a flawless indication of Upfront's versatile style, pen game and lucid delivery! First up is track 6 Not All Bad featuring Upfront tackling a greasy beat, lighting the beat up with subject matter about life not being as bad as it seems and the everyday wasters repeating the same negative statements as if we didn't already know.

What People Say has become a personal anthem for me, speaking on the issues of people changing their mind on a daily basis, switching opinions up, putting someone down to make themselves feel better and so on! All is conveyed with ease due to Upfronts versatile delivery, ill writtens and presence on the beat! Res also backs him up with an equally dope verse and Chikaya completely murks the chorus, this is contender for track of the year hands down.
